Controlling Fear: Avoiding Creating Imaginery Scenarios
I am continuing the series on ways to control anxiety as it applies to accomplishing the goals in your life, especially the goal of making an income from home. I have mentioned that fear is a "stand alone" feeling but that there's also a situation of "being fearful." In this state of being afraid, we think of a worst case scenario which is "scary," and then we sort of live it out. This in turn generates more sensations of anxiety which can sometimes be even stronger than before.
Learning to see this happening in us is the initial step in conquering fear because it is the imagined scenario that is scarier than the actual thing we're thinking about doing. In other words, we create a much worse deal than what we originally had in the first place. Having some facts or real circumstances to rely on can be a great antidote to this, but imagining that you have the solution or the fact can also be like pouring water on the fire of fear.
Being afraid of offending the other person (and actually being afraid of being ridiculed by the other person) is maybe the biggest fear to overcome and is for most people the main reason for not succeeding in developing a home run, network marketing business. And the concept is: they're scared to talk with folks to tell others about their business. They are fearful that they're going to offend people, and so they don't do anything. They don't even speak with their friends and family about what they have because again, they're afraid of offending people.
Now, I want you to imagine what it might feel like to you if you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that you'd be in a position to generate all the leads that you will need to create a successful small business without offending any people.
What I'm going to do soon is a series of different articles to review some techniques and tactics that actually do work and will help you to be really peaceful about approaching other folks, speaking to others about your business, without offending anyone.
