Learn 10 Powerful Ways To Attract More Blog Subscribers – Part 1
I love getting this question:
"What can I do to attract more blog subscribers?"
My main thought process regarding subscribers is this: View your subscribers as an essential piece to the success of your blog. You need them for your overall success!
Given that, I decided to start looking for some things that I could do to start attracting more blog subscribers.
Here Is What I Found :
1. Make it obvious to your readers! Give them an option to select how to become a subscriber. Do they want to subscribe via e-mail, Google Reader, or a different option.
2. Be Targeted - Now, this is kind of a no brainer, but it needs to be said. Make sure that you are going after a particular niche. That way you can specialize your material better to your audience. Take a look at the bigger picture and see if there are enough readers that are interested in your content.
3. Offer a Bribe - Here is a fun a cunning one that I found lately. Now relax, it's nothing illegal.
Let me explain it better. Since you have a blog, you have an RSS feed. Also, you BETTER be using WordPress.org for your blog platform. Now, WordPress has a plugin called "FeedVertising" that will allow you to provide a link to your subscribers only where they can download a free gift for being a subscriber. The FeedVertising links will only show up to your subscribers, and not the blog posts. So only your RSS subscribers will get a link to your bonus material!
4. Use a Viral E-book - Partner with a friend to let them give away your PDF e-book or bundle it for sale with other products they offer. The PDF will promote your blog, and give you more traffic!
5. Dedicated Subscription Landing-pages make a page that's sole purpose is getting a subscription, and push traffic to it from your blog, articles, forums, or basically any other source you want. You will also forward it to a dedicated URL, and add in the moral bribe technique from three above to increase subscriptions.
Another point I want to make. Of all of the tips I gave you already, it's assuming that you're cranking out valuable content to your readers. If you can't take a step back and say that you're providing value to your readers, then you might want to take a closer look at what you're doing online.
After you get your content and value down, using at least one of my suggestions above will certainly raise your subscriber count.
Keep in mind, this is just the first half of my top 10 tactics to attract more blog subscribers.
Keep in mind that when you're blogging and writing articles, you need to write for your human readers and not the search engines. If you keep your human readers in mind when writing your posts, you'll continue to win in this game.
It's humans that provide your site with the links, spreading your content like a virus, providing feedback, leaving comments, and networking.
If you miss out on that part of the formula, you will lose in this game.
