Network Marketing: Why Do Some Love It And Others Hate It?

Network Marketing and MLM often bring up a mixed reaction with people. There are those that swear by it as being the greatest invention ever and others who believe it is nothing more than a scam. So what is the truth behind it? Let us review the various arguments.

There are many different marketing mediums, you have TV, radio, print, the Internet and you have Network Marketing. Simply speaking, all network marketing is, is a method of marketing by word of mouth. You see something you love or do something you enjoy, you tell you friends, who then go and do the same. Similarly, if you have a negative experience you let your friends know about this as well. This is marketing at work through your network. Nothing wrong with that then. It works and is really powerful.

Frequently the first objection to network marketing, or MLM, is the accusation that it is a pyramid scheme, like that is a bad thing and as a result only those that get in at the start will be successful. This is completely false and here is why..

Look at your government, is that not setup the same way, the army, your company if you have job and employed by a company, these all pyramids. It is a proven system and it works.

The point behind this issue though usually is that only those that get in first will make any money as eventually you will run out of people to join. Well this is not the truth either. What is true though is those that have been working at it longer will naturally be further down the line which makes sense, such as your manager who might have been in your business for the last 10 years. Similarly the number of people available to join your business is as good as infinite.

No longer is that true now though. We now have access to billions of people online and this number is increasing daily, not to mention the many hundreds of thousands of people who go online daily searching for business opportunities, work from home opportunities, multiple income streams opportunities, so many so that there is literally no chance that we would see the bottom of that barrel.

So the medium and the structure can't be the real problem. How about claims by some people that they have been scammed. Now this is the area which I believe has given rise to most of the negative perceptions of the industry and there are two key points consider here.

Firstly, there will always be business failures, companies across the board fail due to management deficiencies and lack of experience. It is also true that there are fraudsters out there looking to deceive people and defraud them. Unfortunately this is the world we live in.

However these occur in every industry and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of sound network marketing opportunities, some of which you would have heard of such, e.g. Amway and Herbalife, offering great products and opportunities for their customers and distributors.

Each person needs to do their own evaluation of the opportunity they want to get involved in. They need conduct due diligence and cover all the basic questions. They need to be happy with the company and its products as that person will be acting on behalf of the company. Is it their responsibility at the end of the day to be confident in the company and the reasons they chose it.

That said, the biggest reason for the negative perceptions towards network marketing are those created by people who have tried it and failed. In order not show themselves up in their eyes, or the eyes of their family and friends, will then label it a scam and not workable. This without pinpointing the real reason for their failure.

People fail in network marketing for two primary reasons. The first is they don't put in the effort needed to execute the plan to see them succeed. They dabble and don't treat it like a proper business and the second reason is that they don't have a clue on how to market their opportunity, they don't have a blueprint to show them the exact steps to take to succeed in this business.

You see network marketing is a business and any business needs focus, discipline and work to do what works in order to see success. It is not a get rich quick scheme. Yes, there are many examples of people making big money in small amounts of time; this is entirely possible, if you have the right plan.

To expect to achieve success, however, without effort, is a pipedream. Any good opportunity has the potential to make you money. The question is then are you prepared to take the personal responsibility and put into action, consistently, the right steps and set yourself realistic expectations.

You then stand the best chance of success and if not, you will another of the many voices of failure that pollute the atmosphere with every excuse under the sun why they couldn't succeed while in reality the only reason was they didn't step up.

The Network Marketing business is simple, but not necessarily easy. You need a plan, to follow that plan and a team to support you with the plan. See the video here get your Network Marketing Success plan today.
