Work From Home Moms: Organize Your Way To Success!
Work at home moms don't have it as easy as most people assume. When you work out of your house, not only do you have to get all of your work for the day completed, but you have to do it with kids screaming, people talking and the television on. All of the distractions make it imperative that you organize your time wisely; if you don't it's almost impossible to succeed.
Successful work from home moms need to create a schedule that they can easily adhere to. Start by adding all of your family obligations to your calendar. Everything from sports events to doctors appointments needs to be written down on a monthly calendar. Once you know what your family obligations are, you can begin scheduling your work time.
It's important that you don't over fill your day. If you try to add too much work, then you'll get discouraged when you don't accomplish it all. Looking at your monthly calendar, schedule out your days by the hour. Make sure you include any breaks you need in addition to any appointments you may have. Don't assume that work from home moms work only during the day. Most moms work at night after the kids go to bed or even early in the morning before they wake.
After your schedule is complete, discuss it with the entire family. If you're working during hours the rest of the family is home it's important that they allow you to work without interruptions. Having small children home makes this more difficult, so try scheduling your work in 30 minutes blocks. This way you can spend time with the kids for 30 minutes and them work for 30 minutes.
It's very possible for work from home moms to be successful. Once you have a set schedule and maintain it regularly, you'll find that success comes easier than you may have thought it would.
